Ever wonder where to find some amazing food in Downtown Los Angeles but don’t have time to search?  Find out this Tuesday, Oct. 18 as unique restaurants from all over Downtown gather at the University of Southern California to showcase their food at this year’s Taste of Downtown LA.

Hosted by USC and Chewse--a company that helps clients find catering for their next event from over 25 LA restaurants, food trucks, and caterers--the Taste of Downtown LA provides guests the chance to sample tasty bites from hidden gems that have been tucked away in the urban jungle of Downtown.

Starting at noon, guests will line up at booths set up for the eight participating vendors to enjoy some of the greatest eats Downtown has to offer. Participants will include Trader Vics at LA Live, Señor Fish, Green Hut Café, Chichen Itza, Spitz, Wokcano, Madeleine Bakery, and Viztango CaféJarritos wll provide drinks to accompany the delicious bites.

With USC located within minutes of Downtown, it’s no surprise that Chewse co-founder and USC alum Tracy Lawrence says building local relationships is at the heart of the Taste of Downtown LA, which was held twice last year.

“The restaurants love sharing with USC,” said Lawrence.  “They realize that USC is an important player in Downtown and it's important for USC to stay connected to it—it revitalizes the community.”

Lawrence explained that all of the menu items featured at the Taste of Downtown LA are foods that can be ordered as catering for private events, company lunches, or group meetings, and Chewse will help customers through this process.

The Taste of Downtown LA will be held from noon to 2 p.m. in McCarthy Quad at USC’s University Park Campus. For more information about the event, visit USC Program Board’s website.
