LAT Festival Of Books: Alison Sweeney Explains “The Mommy Diet”
Nonetheless, the mom told the intimate crowd at the “Los Angeles Times” Festival of Books that she manages to make home-cooked meals for her family and exercise on a daily basis.
Sweeny believes, “lots of moms put everyone else first.” Before one’s own health and diet, moms take care of the house, husband and children first and foremost. In addition, many moms don’t want to ask for any help. “You have to let that go,” Sweeny said, who admitted she was once one of those moms. In addition, Sweeny told the audience, “You need to be a good role model to your kids.” With the growing obesity rates, parents need to show their kids how to eat right and be healthy.
In addition to her book, Sweeney was also asked about the cancellation of ABC’s two soap operas. When she heard the news, Sweeney described it as, “heartbreaking and hard to say goodbye. Soap operas bring families together.”
“The Biggest Loser” host also shared what she learned from her hosting job. Trainer Bob Harper taught Sweeney, “to trust the process.” We aren’t going to experience a 10 pound weight-loss in one week like those seen on the show.
She also told the audience that Tuesday’s episode is the fan-favorite makeover episode with Tim Gunn. “Gunn is the nicest guy in Hollywood. The episode is so fun.”
