Royal Wedding: Kate Middleton's Top Five Perks As Princess
After much anticipation, Kate Middleton and Prince William will finally say I do this Friday at the Westminster Abbey in London. But after her nuptials, Kate is not only getting a husband she adores but also a long list of perks exclusively for the princess. Check out the top five of these glorious extras Kate will receive.

1.A Coat of Arms
In Britain, a coat of arms is a symbol of identity normally obtained between the aristocrats and the elites. The Queen not only specially granted the Middletons a shield to signify their growth in social status but also for the practical reason of Kate becoming Queen. Designed by Kate’s father, the heraldic design has three acorns, representing the Middletons three children, an Oak tree, and an inverted “v” at the center, which signifies Kate’s mothers maiden name Goldsmith, the telegraph reported. Kate’s mother started the family’s thriving business that helped them become millionaires.
2. Houses.. and Lots of Them
Besides calling the Buckinham palace home, Kate will be given numerous homes throughout England where she can go whenever she wants. She will get not just one, but a set of apartments at St. James Palace in London where she and her new husband can go to whenever they are in the city. There is also a rumor that Prince Charles’ wedding gift for his eldest son is a homey estate in Gloucestershire. This homey estate will come in handy for Kate or William when they want a break from the lavish life of royalty.
3. Ladies in Waiting
Ladies in waiting, also known as female assistants, are meant to constantly be attending to the princess. They can be handpicked by the princess, the husband’s family, or both. There are many speculations that Kate’s sister, Pippa, will be best suited for the role and may get it.
4. Body Guards
As the wife of the prince who is second in line for the throne- or next in line since there are reports that Prince Charles will pass on the title to his son- Kate will always have a full set of body guards with her.
5. Bling Bling from the Queen
Yup, Princess Kate will have access to the Queen’s $39 million jewelry collection. She will have access to these jewels at anytime, such as the Kid Khalid of Saudi Arabia necklace, which is a drop diamond necklace from Harry Winston received from King Khalid in 1979, according to ABC news. This is also an option for Kate on her wedding day, which would be her something “borrowed”.
