2. Christmas Tree Lane
Every year since 1920, residents of Altadena have decorated a street of towering Deodar trees with more than 10,000 lights and other seasonal touches. Head over to Christmas Tree Lane Saturday at 6 p.m. for the tree-lighting ceremony, art and craft festival and local music performances.

3. Winterfest 2010
A week-long celebration of the Arts District community kicks off this weekend. Check out Saturday night's concert featuring the sounds of KAURA and The Wulf. The festival features the art of Robert Reynolds and Richard Godfrey, wheatpaste art organized by Hold Up gallery, experimental films continually projected and art and craft activities throughout the week.

5. Encounter Bar and Restaurant
Step into this bar and feel like you've stepped into an episode of The Jetsons. This restaurant is located in the iconic former LAX control tower. Walt Disney Imagineering redesigned the interior to be space-aged out, including lava lamps and lots of mod decorations. The restaurant describes its food as "California fresh" and includes a variety of sandwiches, salads and meat-and-side entrees on its menu.
