WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, who is wanted for quesitoning on allegations of rape in Sweden, was freed from jail Thursday after the British high court granted him bail.

"If justice is not always the outcome, at least it is not dead yet," said Assange after his release.

Assange was released on strict conditions that include a $312,000 cash deposit, $62,000 in sureties, house arrest and electronic monitoring.

He has been held in solitary confinement in a British jail while fighting extradition to Sweden where he faces allegations of rape and sexual misconduct by two femalie WikiLeaks volunteers. He and his lawyers fear that extradition to Sweden will result in his handing over to the U.S.

WikiLeaks began releasing hundreds of thousands of U.S. diplomatic cables in November.
