LeBron James got Kobe'd on Saturday night. Only it wasn't Kobe Bryant who hit the game-winning shot to beat the Heat (in fact, the Heat weren't even playing the Lakers). It was Rudy Gay of the Memphis Grizzlies.

Gay hit a buzzer-beating 13-foot jumper over an outstretched LeBron to give Memphis a thrilling 97-95 win over Miami.

It was the likely the biggest play of Gay's young career, but after the game he downplayed the significance of hitting his game-winner over the league's reigning MVP.

"I don't care if James Naismith was guarding me, which would be scary because he's dead," Gay said. "I really don't care who's guarding me to be honest with you."

Granted, I never saw the guy play. But I'm pretty sure Naismith couldn't have covered Gay any better than LeBron did. He had Gay smothered like chili cheese fries. It's a testament to Gay's ability that he was able to knock down the shot anyway.

With the loss, Miami falls to 8-5 (2-3 on the road). They're hardly off to the start we expected them to have, but it's worth noting that Dwyane Wade didn't play Saturday.
