Nancy Pelosi Voted House Minority Leader
Democrats elected Rep. Nancy Pelosi of California as the House minority leader Wednesday by a secret vote of 150-43, following two days of debate.

Rep. Health Shuler of North Carolina was Pelosi's only opponent. He, along with several other Democrats, is frustrated with the former speaker and said, "We need to include others in leadership."
Some are even quick to blame Pelosi for the Democrats' loss of the House in the Nov. 2 elections.
"She is the face that defeated us in this last election," said Rep. Allen Boyd, a Democrat from Florida who lost his seat two weeks ago in the midterm elections.
Earlier in the day, Democrats voted against delaying the vote for minority leader by 129-68. Many wanted to wait on the election until Dec. 8.
Pelosi will become the first Speaker of the House to transition to minority leader since Rep. Joseph Martin in 1955.
