Dillon Baxter Reinstated By NCAA

USC freshman running back Dillon Baxter has been reinstated by the NCAA, head football coach Lane Kiffin told reporters Wednesday evening.
Baxter had been deemed ineligible six days ago by the NCAA because he received a short golf cart ride on campus from a certified NFL player agent, which is considered an improper benefit for a college athlete. Baxter donated $5 to a local charity to remedy for his miscue.
He will be able to play Saturday night against Notre Dame if Kiffin puts him on the field.
The question remains how did the NFLPA allow the agent who gave Baxter the ride--USC undergraduate student Teague Egan--to become an agent without having an undergraduate or postgraduate degree.
The NFLPA's assistant director of agent administration Athelia Doggette did not respond to three voicemails placed to her this week. In between the voicemails, she responded to an e-mail, saying Tuesday she would forward Neon Tommy's questions to "the individual that handles all media requests."
In a now-deleted Facebook post on Monday, Egan suggested that the NFLPA certified him in October because of his experience in representing recording artists Sam Adams and G. Curtis. The NFLPA's rules allow for an agent to become certified without having the proper education credentials if he or she can demonstrate having enough experience.
Egan has refused to answer questions from the media this week about the situation because he and USC remain in discussions about unknown topics. On message boards and online forums, dozens of people have called for USC to expel Egan.
"We know we have a student who is a registered agent," USC athletic director Pat Haden told ESPN this week. "I don't know how the NFLPA allows that to happen, but he's a registered agent."
