Executive Producer

The United States Department of State confirmed today that a record-setting arms deal was being planned between the U.S. and Saudi Arabia.  The deal primarily includes military aircraft, including 84 Boeing F-15 fighter jets, upgrades to the current Saudi F-15 inventory, and a myriad number and type of helicopters.  The deal also includes an option of Black Hawk helicopters.

The United States is the largest arms dealer in the world, and this deal with the Saudis is the largest individual arms deal the United States has ever made.  The US is already the largest supplier of arms to Saudi Arabia, and is also the largest arms dealer for Israel.

The Obama administration must submit the deal to Congress for confirmation.  Congress will have 30 days to allow or deny the deal.  After approval, shipments of the military aircraft can begin.
