After all, who doesn’t want to see their favorite celebrities dressed head to toe in eye-opening attire on what Lindsay Lohan’s character in the comedy "Mean Girls" defines as “the one night a year when girls can dress like a total slut and no other girls can say anything about it.”

While some celebs certainly take this mentality to heart, others use Halloween as an excuse to dress utterly ridiculous on the night where nothing is off-limits, too crazy, or too revealing. 

Here are my top five personal celebrity getups from Halloweens past, although chances are this year’s outfits will turn heads too.

5) Heidi Klum’s avant-garde, two-in-one serpent AND apple costume in 2006 (with husband Seal dressed as Eve, of course).

4) Katie Couric’s, shall we say, unique rendition of Donald Trump in 2009.  The toupee and signature “You’re fired” gesture makes this look almost too good to be true.

3) Two for one special: Mariah Carey and husband Nick Cannon take creativity to a new level in 2008 dressed as everyone’s favorite tasty treat: Milk and cookies.

2) Gwen Stefani looks egg-cellent in this simple yet unique egg costume from Halloween 2008.

1) Pop sensation Katy Perry kept it chic AND sexy in her Queen front-man Freddie Mercury costume in 2008.

As All Hallows’ Eve approaches this coming Sunday, only one question looms in my mind: what on earth will Lady Gaga wear??? Stay tuned.
