Los Angeles Police announced on Friday the arrest of 18-year-old alleged gang member Felix Gomez in the shooting deaths of teens Alejandro Garcia and Carlos Hernandez.
Garcia and Hernandez were walking home from school on March 13 when they got into an argument with a gang member. According to police (and reported by the Los Angeles Times) that individual called friends over for help when a fight broke out, including Felix Gomez.
Gomez was arrested on Wednesday night and police are still looking for additional suspects.
In April, as police were about to announce a $75,000 reward for information about the shootings, Neon Tommy put together special coverage of the Highland Park neighborhood, the two victims, and why police were slow in finding suspects. Those stories are below.
