Immigrant Rights Supporters Rally In Downtown Los Angeles
A coalition of immigrant rights groups led a march on City Hall on Saturday calling for an end to Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids and asking President Obama to lead the way on immigration reform. A mile of South Broadway was blocked off Downtown as marchers walked the ten blocks from Olympic Boulevard to City Hall carrying signs and flags from around the world and chanting in English and Spanish. During the campaign, Obama pledged to put an end to ICE raids and address immigration reform. However, immigration issues have been pushed to the back burner as the president deals with pressing economic concerns. Saturday's march was the first in a series of actions planned this spring that will demand immediate action on immigration reform before the end of Obama's first 100 days.
