“Ip Man 3” is a Chinese martial arts movie set to be released in U.S theaters on Jan. 22. Donnie Yen is sheduled to make his return as Yip Man on the third movie of this epic trilogy series. Donnie Yet is the perfect actor to play this role as a big part of the previous successes are due to his level of greatness as an actor and his aura of invincibility that he gives to the character.

The film will feature two legendary fight warriors, Mike Tyson and Yip Man, who dominated their sport. This is the fight of the century. Tyson is known for his invincible aura throughout the '80s knocking opponents out and becoming the youngest heavyweight champion in history at 20 years of age. Yip man is another legendary warrior who mastered the art of Wing Chun and defeated many opponents, including fighting against the Japanese army at his own expense. Not to mention the fact that he was the man responsible for training the great Bruce Lee.

The editing style will be a key element during the fight scenes. Ip Man Vs Mike Tyson, elite boxer vs martial artist. Two fighters from different eras clashing in the squared circle is a battle that could only be brought to us through a feature film. Mike Tyson at this point in his life, has been retired a little over 10 years ending his career on a few losses. He clearly won’t be able to perform the moves that he once did in the ring, but if he could train (like I’m sure he has been) to look somewhat like he did during his prime years as a boxer, than the fight scenes will have great action. I am not entirely sure if he will be fighting with a vest on or without it. From the trailers it looks like he is going to be fighting with a shirt on which is a good thing since it doesn’t seem likely that he will look like the Tyson of old. But maybe his punching speed could still be there if he works at it. But even if he can’t perform at that elite level, the editing will be a fight saver. Donnie Yen always looks ready for battle but most of it of course, has to do with the rapid editing and loud beat sound effects that put him over. The editing and rapid/tilted camera angles will make these fight scenes amazing.

Bruce Lee is scheduled to come out in the film as well. The special effects utilized in cinema over the past couple of years have improved to such astronomical levels, that it is hard to tell when a c.g.i effect is used to portray a character or in screen ability. In “terminator genesys” the imitation of Arnold shwagzenneger’s character in the 80’s of the model T-800 / T-850 Terminator looked very realistic and his physical appearance was very over the top. For a second, I actually thought Arnold had turned back the hands of time and began looking the way he did during that time. But reality begun to sink as I soon realized the c.g.i effects are that great.

Will Bruce Lee battle against anyone in this film? I believe Yip Man will lose to Tyson and Bruce Lee will become the guy who defeats Tyson, thus ending the trilogy series. The last time a movie featuring Bruce Lee was made was sometime during the '70s. Most of the younger viewers may have never seen Bruce Lee perform during his era, and some may not even know who he is. Bruce Lee actually went on to become more popular than Yip Man, so this would be a great ending to a great saga. Bruce Lee avenging his trainer’s loss. But then again, what if it becomes a classic battle of master vs. teacher, Lee vs. Yip Man? That would be an interesting fight.
