Police say a suspect is now in custody after pointing a gun in someone's face near the USC Greek Row. Sergeant Robert Posslenzny with the USC Department of Public Safety said the suspect committed an assault with a deadly weapon at about 4:30 pm Tuesday afternoon around 30th and Figueroa.

Lt. Leo Bauer with the LA County Sheriff's Department says the suspect then ran to 28th street and hid in between some houses on Greek row. He also said the suspect attempted to get into some of the houses on the row, but was unsuccessful. There were visible blood stains outside of the Phi Psi and Delta Gamma houses, which Lt. Bauer says came from the suspect after he tripped over a curb and cut his leg.

According to Lt. Bauer, the suspect is in custody and was transported to LA County Jail. There are no other reported injuries in the incident.

Students recieved initial alerts about the incident around 4:55 pm. Another all-clear message was sent at 5:36 pm.
