Steve Veres, a Los Angeles Community College Trustee and former teacher, is currently sixth out 14 candidates running for District 4 Council member.

“It’s still early in the election, but we are feeling good,” said Cody Hanable, a Veres supporter.

Veres also works as a District Director for State Senate Leader Kevin de León.

In his political career, Veres endeavored in several public service efforts like cleaning up the L.A. River, expanding access to higher education, and securing funds to build 17 L.A. parks.

“He is an intellectual, a UCLA grad. I think it’s important to have someone with a professional background like his," said voter Melissa Bobrowicz on why she supports Veres. "Also, he is the only candidate to get nominations from both the San Fernando Democrats and the Los Angeles Democrats.”

In 2014, Veres most famously helped with a bill that tripled California’s Film and Television Tax Credit, aiming to protect the California’s film industry.
