Five-star linebacker Porter Gustin committed to USC on Tuesday morning, choosing the Trojans over Ohio State and Arizona State. He played on both sides of the ball for Salem Hills High School in Utah, as he was also a productive quarterback.

At the collegiate level, he can play either outside linebacker position or even either middle linebacker spot in USC's 3-4 defense. He is really effective on blitzes, which is why I think he fits in well at the rush end position. USC was considered the favorite for Gustin, especially after his friend Osa Masina committed there last month.

The 6'5", 238-pound prospect is very athletic and disruptive on the defensive side of the ball. He showed off his incredible potential in the U.S. Army All-American Game in January when he had a sack and returned an interception for a touchdown. Gustin is USC's 21st commitment, which means the Trojans have three more scholarship slots available for this year's class.
