The gang’s back together and more hilarious than ever. Although "Hot Tub Time Machine 2" is the opposite of what would be considered an Oscar-nominated film, enter the theater with no expectations and you will be pleasantly surprised.

Yes, it is another dumb American comedy. The plot resembles much of the first film but the sequel actually has a moral to its story: Do not take advantage of your loved ones, but most definitely take advantage of your advanced-knowledge to steal the most popular innovations of our time and become a money making machine.

Lou (Rob Corddry) is back as the father of “Lougle” and douchier than ever, Nick (Craig Robinson) is a world-renowned artist due to his stolen billboard hits and a new signature dance move that resembles “dick-pickin”,  and Jacob (Clark Duke) remains the nerdy kid who balances the other two out in terms of sanity and absurdity.

While the three are living their life full of luxury and success in the "present," Lou gets shot at his own party, where he was predictably acting like a complete ass. The three musketeers find themselves back in the time machine to travel to the past and find Lou's killer, but instead, end up in the future where things have gotten way out of hand. Plot twist.

The only evident downfall was that the fourth prominent member of the crew in the first film, Adam (played by John Cusack), was forcefully put into the second movie. Nick, Lou, and Jacob were supposed to be searching for Adam for some unknown reason, but instead, they meet Adam Yates Jr. (Adam Scott), his son.

The future has it all, from self-driving smart cars with feelings to dogs on hovering disks. The four of them, Nick, Lou, Jacob and Adam, get caught up into the foreseen misbehavior full of partying, alcohol, and drugs aplenty. If anything, it must have been a blast to make this film because they sure looked like they were having a lot of fun.

The humor was varied, from political references to just outright crudeness. If you’re looking for substance or to see a movie that will leave you breathless, this isn’t the one for you. But if you’re looking for a fun night with friends and wanting to blow off some steam, Hot Tub Time Machine 2 is surefire way to get out more than a couple good laughs out of you.
