Two iPhone users, Paul Orshan and Christopher Endara, filed a class-action lawsuit against Apple Inc. on Tuesday, alleging that the company "failed to inform its users that installing iOS 8 would take up as much as 23.1 percent of the phone’s storage capacity.

In addition, the complainants claim that Apple is using the iPhone's storage limit to force consumers to pay for an upgraded iCloud storage plan, which can take advantage of consumers in a "desperate moment," such as “trying to record or take photos at a child or grandchild’s recital, basketball game or wedding.”

According to Apple's website, users receive 5 GB of free storage when they sign up for iCloud and can upgrade to a total of 20 GB, 200 GB, 500 GB or 1 TB if they need more space.
