New York Police Officer Not Indicted In Eric Garner 'Choke Hold Death'
A grand jury in New York decided on Wednesday to not indict police officer Daniel Pantaleo for the death of Eric Garner, according to CNN.
Garner was suspected of illegally selling cigarettes in July, and before his arrest he raised his hands and told police to not touch him. A video showed Pantaleo grabbing Garner in a choke hold and wrestling him to the ground. The New York City Police Department prohibits choke holds.

Garner died later that day; the death was ruled as a homicide. NYPD began launched its body camera program early on the same day as the announcement.
Demonstrators took to the streets in south Los Angeles on Wednesday night to peacefully protest the grand jury's failure to indict Pantaleo. The group of individuals circled an area in front of the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Mall, stopping traffic shortly and sporadically as they marched and chanted in laps.
