Microsoft Abolishes Clip Art And Switches To Bing Images

Elementary school students will no longer be able to scroll through the exciting list of clip art options when designing the front page of their reports. Those children will now have to use Bing Image Search to find the perfect picture of a turkey for their paper on the Pilgrims and the Indians.

In a blog post published on Monday, Microsoft Office announced that when users click on online images in Microsoft Office, they will no longer see the original Clip Art library. Instead, users will be directed to Bing Images to search pictures and images with a Creative Commons license.

"The Office.com Clip Art and image library has closed shop" stated Microsoft's Doug Thomas in a blog post that has since been removed. "Usage of Office's image library has been declining year-to-year as customers rely more on search engine."

Despite the supposed decrease in use, many clip art lovers are not happy about the change.
