Hong Kong Activists Warned To Not Return To The Streets

Hong Kong Chief Executive CY Leung warned Hong Kong activists to not return to the streets after recent clashes on Sunday, according to BBC. Police armed with batons, pepper spray and water hoses cleared protesters from Lung Wo Road in the Admirality District. Governement offices were briefly shut on Monday. 40 protesters were arrested and a number of officers were injured.

Student activists are trying to reopen negotiations with China. Though they sat with government negotiators in October, they failed to reach an agreement. Student leader Joshua Wong announced that he and two others will go on a hunger strike.
