The Jerome C. Daniel Overlook above the Hollywood Bowl is the only place is Los Angeles where one can see the Hollywood Bowl, Downtown L.A., the ocean, the San Fernando Valley, the Griffith Park Observatory and the iconic Hollywood Sign. With that much to take in at once, tourists and L.A. residents flock to these views. Built in 1984 for the Summer Olympics, the overlook is a crown jewel of Los Angeles.

Although the view of the Hollywood Sign isn’t nearly as close as most people would like, it’s a decent view considering there is no way to get close up to the sign without breaking the law.
