The search for a character to represent a new playground in Tuszyn, a small town in Poland, is under way. The popular children's book character, Winnie the Pooh, was under consideration.

Until council members decided it was best to eliminate the character from consideration due to his "inappropriate attire".

“The problem with that bear is it doesn’t have a complete wardrobe,” said council member Ryszard Cichy. “It is half naked which is wholly inappropriate for children. [Poland’s fictional bear character] is dressed from head to toe, unlike Pooh who is only dressed from the waist up.”

They went on to criticize the way that Winnie the Pooh author A.A. Milne portrayed the character and referenced him as a "hermaphrodite."

"This is very disturbing but can you imagine — the author was over 60 and cut [Pooh’s] testicles off with a razor blade because he had a problem with his identity,” an unnamed female council member said.
