Norovirus Infects Cruise Ship Bound for L.A.

More than 170 passengers and crew on a month-long cruise operated by Princess Cruises became ill with norovirus, according the Centers for Disease Control.

The ship, called the Crown Princess, was originally to return to port in L.A. yesterday, but was delayed a day after stopping in Nuku Hiva in the Marquesas Islands last week so a crew member could receive emergency treatment for a separate medical issue. 

The ship will be disinfected in San Pedro this afternoon, said officials.
