Musician Neil Young is encouraging fans to boycott Starbucks for allegedly backing up a lawsuit for avoiding genetically modified food labeling.

According to Rolling Stone, Young revealed his anger toward the coffee company on his blog.

“I used to line up and get my latte everyday, but yesterday was my last one,” he wrote.

Starbucks allegedly got involved in a lawsuit against Vermont’s new requirements to label GMOs.

“If we can generate enough attention, we can push Starbucks to withdraw its support for the lawsuit, and then pressure other companies to do the same,” Young said.

Starbucks representatives deny the involvement of the lawsuit.

According to the Guardian, Starbucks representatives said, “Starbucks is not aligned with Monsanto to stop food labeling or block Vermont state law.”

This isn’t Neil Young’s first attempt to demonstrate environmental activism. Rolling Stone has also reported that Neil Young boycotted non-organic cotton. He has used his music to get the message out.  His song “Who’s Gonna Stand Up” asks who will take a stand to save the environment. Young has also mentioned the documentary “Under the Influence” to bring awareness to how corporations have bought our politicians, whose decisions lead to ruining the planet.

It's safe to say that unless Starbucks makes the right choice (to Young), he won't be waiting in line anymore.
