Latinas In Hollywood: Vivian Lamolli Interview
Neon Tommy dove into a conversation with "East Los High"'s Vivian Lamolli about the struggles Latinas face in Hollywood while having a delicious, authentic Cuban breakfast.
NT: You've done "East Los High." Tell us more about the show and what your character on the show is like.
Yes, it is my first television series. "East Los High" has definitely opened a lot of doors for me in Los Angeles. It's a Hulu original with an entirely Latino cast. I play Feliberta Rodriguez and her character is 'Boricua' [Puerto Rican].

NT: Is your character the joke of the show?
It's so fun to play that role and I can take me and go even further.
NT: Do you want to continue to play these Latina roles?
Actually, I am feeling blessed. I would definitely not shun or discriminate any other roles. But, yes playing such Latina roles makes me so proud.

NT: Vivian was then asked about her opinion on Gina Rodriguez's comment on the lack of diversity in Hollywood, especially in the Latino community.
Yeah, it's true. Once you start making some noise for yourself and being big out there, I think its important to keep your integrity and staying true to who you are. But also being brave and taking risks is what this career is about. It's what life is about.
"East Los High" is preparing for their third upcoming season on Hulu. If you aren't familiar with the show, make sure to check out their trailer below.
