Happy birthday, Anne Hathaway!

Everyone's favorite love-to-hate actress, who turns 32 today, has become a familiar face to moviegoers since her breakout role in 2001 as Mia Thermopolis in Disney's "The Princess Diaries."

Most recently, the Academy Award-winning actress starred in Christopher Nolan's "Interstellar" (2014).

But Hathaway has done everything from romantic comedies like "Love and Other Drugs" (2010) to dramas like "Brokeback Mountain" (2005), and even got her action movie debut in 2012's "The Dark Knight Rises" as Selina Kyle (Catwoman).

In honor of her special day, here are 7 of Hathaway's most memorable movie roles!

"The Princess Diaries" (2001)

We would be extremely remiss if we didn't include Hathaway's big-screen debut as the amusingly dorky Mia Thermopolis, a regular teen from San Francisco who finds out that she's actually a princess and sole heir to the throne of the Kingdom of Genovia.

A box office success, the film peaked at #3 and Hathaway reprised her role as Mia in the 2004 sequel "The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement."

"Brokeback Mountain" (2005)

Although she played a relatively minor role as Lureen Newsome in 2005's "Brokeback Mountain," Hathaway convincingly portrays Lureen's struggles within her marriage to Jack Twist (Jake Gyllenhaal) as they start a family together, despite Jack's secret affair with fellow cowboy Ennis Del Mar (Heath Ledger).

Renowned by critics everywhere, "Brokeback Mountain" won over 70 awards, including four Golden Globes and three Oscars.

"The Devil Wears Prada" (2006)

While most attention was focused on Meryl Streep's Oscar-nominated performance as the icy Miranda Priestly in "The Devil Wears Prada" (2006), Hathaway proved she could hold her own against one of the movie industry's greats, playing the role of Andrea Sachs, a aspiring journalist fresh out of college.

The film was so successful that Fox played with the idea of moving the story to the small screen with a TV series, but never went through with it.

"Becoming Jane" (2007)

In the biographical film "Becoming Jane" (2007), Hathaway and co-star James McAvoy wowed audience members and critics with their romantic chemistry as author Jane Austen and politician Thomas Lefroy.

"Rachel Getting Married" (2008)

Earning Hathaway a Oscar nomination for Best Actress, "Rachel Getting Married" was considered by many to be one of the best films of 2008.

Playing the role of Kym, Hathaway got rave reviews for portraying the troubled and unlikable character in a way that seemed believable and made moviegoers sympathize with her.

"Rio" (2011)

One of the highest-grossing films of 2011, the adorable animated film "Rio" won audiences over with its catchy soundtrack, stunning visuals, and charming voice cast.

Hathaway received award nominations for her performance as the sassy blue macaw Jewel alongside Jesse Eisenberg's naïve and sheltered Blue.

"Les Misérables" (2012)

Based on Victor Hugo's 1862 novel of the same name, "Les Misérables" was acclaimed by critics for the castmembers' performances, particularly those of Hathaway (Fantine), Hugh Jackman (Jean Valjean), and Samantha Barks (Eponine).

The film, which was notable for its use of live singing rather than studio recordings, won three Oscars and three Golden Globe Awards, including Best Supporting Actress awards for Hathaway's role as Fantine.
