U.S. Secret Service Director Julia resigned Wednesday afternoon ending her 20-month stint at the position.

Pierson’s resignation all comes on the footsteps of the recent White House security breaches and calls by many politicians for Pierson to resign.

The news was announced by Homeland Security Director Jeh Johnson, who also said he would appoint a new group to review White House security and conduct an internal inquiry of the Secret Service itself.
