Ryan Murphy To Produce New Show 'Scream Queens'

Ryan Murphy is executive producing a brand new TV show for Fox called "Scream Queens."
On Monday, the TV network ordered 15 episodes of the new show, which will combine elements of two very different genres together - comedy and horror.
Similar to "American Horror Story" on FX, "Scream Queens" will be an anthology series, meaning that each season will center around new stories and characters. The first season will focus on a college campus shaken up by a series of murders.
Murphy will be executive producing the show with with colleagues from "American Horror Story" and "Glee," including show co-creators Dante Di Loreto, Brad Falchuk, and Ian Brennan.
In a statement on the new show, Murphy said, "I knew I wanted to work with Brad and Ian again on something comedic, and we are having a blast writing 'Scream Queens.' We hope to create a whole new genre - comedy-horror - and the idea is for every season to revolve around two female leads. We've already begun a nationwide search for those women, as well as 10 other supporting roles, and we're very grateful to [Fox Television Group chairmen and CEOs] Dana [Walden] and Gary [Newman] for their enthusiastic support."
"Scream Queens" is expected to begin production next spring and then premiere in the fall.
