Plane Cleaners Strike Over Ebola

After recent Ebola scares in the United States, 200 cabin cleaners at New York’s La Guardia Airport are leaving their jobs because of safety concerns. Organizers of the protest say that this is just another step in the long fight for better working conditions.

The workers who clean the cabins and bathrooms on the planes say that they are not given enough protection, especially in light of the recent Ebola pandemic.

According to Mark Duell, vice president of operations at FlightAware (flight tracking service), La Guardia Airport does not handle international flights, other than Canada. So far, this strike has not caused protests or delays at bigger international airports in New York.
