Last night, fashion designer Liz Luque unveiled the looks in her Fancy Swimwear Spring 2015 collection. The backdrop for the event was a rooftop pool, which set a glamorous yet intimate atmosphere. The fashion show was set to benefit Relay for Life and American Cancer Society. As a two-time cancer survivor, Luque was surrounded by close friends and supporters for the cause.

The guests were all smiles as everyone gushed about Luque and the cause. Many guests and volunteers also had personal experiences with cancer. Annelle, the makeup artist for the night, shared her excitement to support such a great cause. She discussed her own experience revealing that when her niece was seven, she was diagnosed with cancer with only a 3% chance of survival. Now nineteen, her niece is in school with aspirations. Annelle loves being able to celebrate both Luque’s and her niece’s victory over cancer.

The show began with a performance by singer and hostess Jillisa Lynn dressed in a gold cape and bodice covered in spikes. She sang two songs with two male back-up dancers. Both numbers were fast-paced and provocative. This set a fast and exciting atmosphere as the models were introduced soon after. With fast-paced music, each model strutted down the carpet, posing on both sides.

The collection was daring with designs full of stark color contrasts. The bold colors and patterns gave a fun, young vibe to the line. Some suits came in the classic bikini style while edgy one-pieces and monokinis were also on display. The variety was wonderfu and kept the show fresh. The cut of the swimsuits also reflected the symmetry of the patterns with clean lines.

The playful colors and stark cutouts, created a unique line of swimwear that anyone would be proud to wear. After the show ended, the host and models reemerged to thank Luque once again for her line and dedication.

Luque profusely thanked everyone at the end of the show. She thanked God for her life and advocated for the cause for cancer saying she wanted “more awareness for our age group.” This was truly a memorable night for everyone to come together and support Luque and raise awareness for such a big issue. Luque truly outdid herself.
