On Wednesday, the third episode of "The Arrow" premiered on the CW.

Starting six months ago, when Thea left with her dad Malcolm, Thea exclaims how she does not want to feel pain ever again by the lies of her close loved ones. Back to Oliver in the present, he is chasing down a guy who was there when Sara was killed, but he has no information for him. Felicity manages to track down Thea’s location which is not in Italy like she said but rather in Corto Maltese.

Laurel goes to a boxing ring to try to get some info on a kid for a case she is on. You can tell that she has a lot of resentment due to Sara’s murder. She develops this mindset that everyone who commits a crime should get what they deserve no matter what. The boxing instructor tells her about letting off anger through fighting, for he can tell that she needs to let go of a lot of tension.

Oliver goes with Roy and John to the island where Thea is hiding. Back to Thea six months prior, Malcolm is making tea and showing Thea the basics of spiritual strength and fighting when it comes to becoming a warrior. He pours the scorching hot tea on his hand and, although Thea freaks out, he does not flinch as he states that every warrior must understand that pain is inevitable. He, then, grabs Thea’s arm and prepares to pour it on her.

Oliver finds Thea working at a restaurant and she is actually happy to see him. They talk and Thea knows it is not just a visit and Oliver explains to her how he wants her to come home. Thea misses him too but she refuses to go back to Starling City. Back to the clip with Thea and the hot tea, Thea could not hold on with the pain for too long and she tries to run away from the situation, but Malcolm lets her know that she has a lot more strength than she realizes.

In the present, Felicity lays down the law with her new boss Ray stating she is not going to be his personal assistant doing any type of errands, late night work, or coffee deliveries. But Ray acknowledges that he is well aware of her status in the company and gives her own personal assistant along with a huge office.

John does not just go to the island to help out Oliver, but to also work on an FBI mission. Meanwhile, Laurel goes to her Alcohol Anonymous meeting and discusses her situation with Sara and how she felt like she really wanted to drink, but she didn’t, but she is very angry and she doesn’t know what to do with that anger.

There is a girl in her group named Erica who is getting beat by her boyfriend and Laurel is concerned and wants to help her. On the island, John follows the guy, Shaw, to a hidden area and John realizes it’s a trick but Shaw tazers him. Shaw steals a flash drive that John was protecting. Oliver is right on the scene but he couldn’t stop Shaw from getting away.

Roy sees Thea for the first time in a while and helps her out with some trash and tries to convince Thea to come back. Thea tells him that she didn’t just leave because of Roy. She left to get away from all the secrets and lies. She tells him how she likes the loneliness of the island. Roy accepts Thea’s decision, but Thea notices that he is not ok.

Back six months, Malcom tells Thea that she needs to be trained like how he was trained. He cannot see her as his daughter but as a student, and he, then, elbows her in the face. And continues to beat her until Thea grabs a sword and threatens to kill him.

John contacts Felicity to help him find Shaw, while she’s in a meeting with Ray, and then at the same time Laurel contacts Felicity for a favor. Felicity is trying to help all of them hack into people’s information and locate them and Ray listens to all of it. He is extremely impressed by how much Felicity is involved in.

That night, Laurel attacks the man who has been beating Erica with a bat and tells him, “I hear you like to hit women, how about one who likes to hit back,” and he manages to take the bat away from her and hits her multiple times and knocks her down.

She ends up in a hospital with a busted mouth and black eye. Laurel explains to her dad that she just wanted to work things out because she realizes we live in a world where people who deserve to get punished don’t. Laurel promises her dad that she would never do it again. I doubt she will follow through.

Oliver goes to Thea and tells her that, if he tells her the truth, he might lose her because of all the things that have happened to him and what he has done is unimaginable and frightening. If she knows she will see him differently, but she tells him that she won’t change his view. What happened on the island doesn’t matter, but the fact that he lied to her about who her father was has, and Oliver explains that the man who did raise her was a great man. He confesses that their father killed himself to save Oliver.

Oliver reminds her how both their parents sacrificed themselves so that they could live, so for them not to be together, it’s like they are not even alive. We switch to Roy, Oliver and John zoning in on Shaw in a delivery meeting with the flash drive. The team prepare themselves to go in until an infantry team shows up and ambushes them.

The three take down the army men; Shaw tries to get away again but John takes him down and Oliver stops the other men from getting away and with the help from Roy. Shaw tells him that he put a bullet on his families back because he had to.

Thea tells her dad that she wants to go back home with Oliver, and Malcolm is upset that she is going back to that atmosphere of lies. They battle with swords in order for Thea to prove that she is more than ready. Malcolm lets her win and go back home with Oliver, but the question remains why.

Thea joins the guys at the airport and Oliver notices a very deep change when a guy accidently dumps hot coffee on her hand and it does not affect Thea in the slightest. Back in Starling city, Oliver tries to get answers about Laurel’s wounds. Laurel explains that when she wears Sara’s outfit it makes her want to help others and it makes her feel like Sara is still alive.

Laurel tells Oliver that she wants to start learning how to fight but Oliver says no and Laurel tells him that she has so much fire inside of her and the only time it went away was when she fought that man. The guy who Laurel assaulted presses charges while Laurel goes back to the boxing ring asking for lessons.

Then, Felicity asks for some time off to help Barry after he was hit by lightning and gained speed powers. When she leaves, Ray remains and looks at some top secret files that deal with advanced weaponry, such as jets and fighter planes, with the Queen’s consolidated logo on the blueprints.

Oliver and Roy talk about how Thea seems different and then Sara’s ex-lover from the league of assassins shows up and points an arrow at Oliver asking about Sara’s whereabouts.
