Pakistan Arrests Ten Over Malala Yousafzai Attack
Relief strikes the civilized citizens all over the globe as the worldwide symbol of gender equality; Malala Yousafzai’s attempted murderers were caught. The Pakistani Army spokesman Gen. Asim Saleem Bajwa confirmed the arrest as well as the involvement of the Pakistani Taliban’s head, Mullah Fazlullah, according to Aljazeera America.
The entire gang of 10 was busted by Pakistan’s army as a part of their operation in North Waziristan launched on June 15.
The arrested Pakistani Taliban members were given orders by their head Mullah Fazlullah to shoot the education activist Malala, then 15 years old, in October 2012. They had succeeded in shooting Malala and wounding 2 other girls while they were on their way back home from school in the Northwest region of Pakistan. The Nobel Peace prize nominee Malala was flown to Britain for treatment who then became a symbol of defiance in fighting armed groups according to Reuters.
AP reported that Malala’s father, Ziauddin Yousafzai expressed his relief on behalf of everyone touched by terrorism in a statement and said, “This is good news for our family and most importantly, for the people of Pakistan and the civilised world. This first step of apprehending Malala’s attackers signifies the beginning of real hope for the hundreds of thousands of people whose lives have been affected by terrorism.”
The Pakistani Army spokesperson, Bajwa further reiterated this hope and confirmed that their search operation would continue till the time they find or kill The Taliban head Mullah Fazlullah who has been on the run since 2009 and is suspected to be hiding in Afghanistan.
