Enthused indie fans made their way to The Hollywood Palladium on Tuesday, September 23rd to catch Swedish singer Lykke Li perform at the intimate venue.  Known for her sultry voice, Li introduced the show with "I Never Learn," which was also the name of her latest album released in May.

The mood of the production was not far-fetched from her most recent record, causing music-goers to feel the wistful remorse Li felt while performing songs about lost love.  In fact, it made the spectators frequently cheer in favor of such nostalgic sentiment as though they, too, felt some type of way about their past.

While the slow tempo of "Sadness Is A Blessing" tended to get dramatic, concertgoers were quickly revived when Li transitioned into a crowd favorite, "No Rest for The Wicked."  Fans passionately muttered the lyrics: "There'll be no rest for the wicked / There's no song for the choir/ There's no hope for the weary/ If you let them win without a fight."

After a somber introduction, the singer finally lightened up the mood by asking viewers, "Do you want to dance?"  Upon receiving confirmation from the audience, she shifted to more up-tempo songs such as "Dance Dance Dance" and "Little Bit (popularly remixed by Canadian rapper, Drake)."

The soulful vocalist continued with more upbeat tunes - at least for her standard - singing another favorite, "Gunshot" and following it with a throwback, "I Follow Rivers."

The roughly hour performance evolved from melancholy sing-a-longs to rocking out numbers. She concluded with quite a finale, jamming to "Get Some" while gleaming lights and blinding smoke filled the room.

Li delivered nothing short of a personal concert, causing fans to patiently wait in hopes she would return to the stage after departing.

Minutes later, she catered to the crowd, starting again with tracks from her latest album. Finally concluding with "Heart of Steel," Li led a touching act that took listeners on an indescribable musical journey.

Overall, if she continues creating heartfelt music and giving captivating performances, she will make her way to stardom.  Many pop artists lack her creative depth and raw talent - both lyrically and melodically - proving her unconventionality as the real deal.
