The Home Depot has confirmed Tuesday that the company suffered a data breach that resulted in theft of customers' credit card information.

According to the Home Depot’s statement, after a week of investigation on the possible breach of its payment data systems, the company confirmed the leak in those systems. The company also added that the breach could “potentially impact any customer that has used their payment card at our U.S. and Canadian stores, from April forward.”

Although the Home Depot has admitted to the leak in customers' credit card information, it insisted that no debit card PIN data was taken.

The impacted customers will be compensated with 12 months of identity repair service and credit monitoring offered by AllClearID.
