Gov. Jerry Brown Dukes It Out In Gubernatorial Debate
Incumbent Gov. Jerry Brown clashed hard and often with Republican challenger Neel Kashkari in the first, and only, California gubernatorial debate. Battling over everything from high-speed rail to plastic bag bans, the two savvy politicians made passionate pleas to California voters ahead of the 2014 midterm elections. Brown often leaned hard on a platform of accomplishments, whereas Kashkari made an appeal to the state's eroding middle class.
