Minnesotta Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has been indicted by a grand jury in the state of Texas today, according to Fox Houston.

The former NFL MVP is being indicted by a Montgomery County jury on charges of reckless and negligent injuries to a child, after sheriff investigators say the case was brought to them earlier this year.

Peterson struck his 4-year-old child with a switch last May, while disciplining him. The boy was taken to the doctor by his mother and had lacerations, bruise marks and cuts, according to a local station. 

Peterson has been cooperative in the investigation according to authorities and has not yet been arrested.
