Baltimore Orioles' Chris Davis Suspended For Drug Test
Baltimore Orioles fans were dealt a setback Friday as Major League Baseball announced that 28-year-old Chris Davis, the team’s corner infielder, had been suspended for 25 games after he tested positive for amphetamines, according to the New York Times.

Davis’s suspension marks his second offense in the league. With 16 regualr-season games remaining for the Orioles, Davis is expected to miss at least eight postseason games, assuming the team advances, said the Times.
Davis, who is not appealing the suspension, tested positive for the stimulant Adderall, according to the NY Times baseball source. Prior to the test, Davis held a therapeutic-use exemption that once allowed him to use the drug, however it ran out, and he did not have clearance during the time of the testing. According to the Times, had Davis had clearance the M.L.B. would not be allowed to announce it.
“I think it’s disappointing,” Orioles Manager Buck Showalter told the Times. “The timing is never good, but it’s one of those challenges. That’s why we have this in place, and we’re fully supportive of it. These are the things everybody knew about beforehand, and it’s another way we want the fans to be able to trust a lot of things.”
