An American doctor working in Liberia has tested positive for Ebola, according to his organization SIM USA

The doctor was not treating patients with Ebola, so it is unclear how he contracted the disease.

The unnamed doctor immediately isolated himself when he noticed symptoms, reports CNN, and is currently in an Ebola isolation unit.

According to the World Health Organization, more than 3,000 people have been infected by Ebola in Liberia, Guinea, Sierra Leone and Nigeria since the outbreak in December. At least 1,552 have died.
