We know familiar faces like Jennifer Lopez and Justin Timberlake who performed music on stage and acted for film.  Lopez played in the film “Anoconda” with rapper Ice Cube (“21 Jump Street,” “22 Jump Street”). We remember young actors like Hilary Duff and Miley Cyrus who started on TV and made their way to the recording studio. Anna Kendrick made her singing debut in "Pitch Perfect" and her song "Cups (When I'm Gone)" is always on the radio. Here are some more low-key actors who also have musical talent:

1. Ryan Gosling

Yes, ladies! Ryan Gosling doesn’t just rock the big screen, but he rocks as a musician too. He played the ukulele and sang in “Blue Valentine” co-starring Michelle Williams. He has been in a band called “Dead Man’s Bones” since 2008. And, let's not forget that he was in the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse with people like Britney Spears and Justine Timberlake

2. Zooey Deschannel

The actress became most popular during her role as Summer in the film “500 Days of Summer” with Joseph Gordon-Levitt. We saw her sing in the film at a karaoke bar. The actress/musician also has a music video with her co-star.

3. Johnny Depp

The man who plays Captain Jack Sparrow has been seen at concerts for the Rolling Stones, Red Hot Chile Peppers and Aerosmith. He often joins the band on stage to play guitar. Depp has co-starred with The Rolling Stones' Keith Richards in "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End" and sang in the film “Sweeney Todd.”

4. Scarlett Johansson

In her acting career, we saw Johansson singing a lullaby in “The Nanny Diaries,” a short tune in “Her” and a glimpse of her singing on stage (with no sound) in “He’s Just Not That Into You.” She also released two albums: “Anywhere I Lay My Head” and “Break Up.”

5. Jamie Foxx

The actor collaborated with Kanye West for the song “Gold Digger” in 2005. He let us hear his voice when he played Ray Charles in the 2004 film “Ray.” On the “Ellen DeGeneres Show,” Foxx mentioned that he also sang while behind the scenes of "The Amazing Spider-Man 2."

6. Jack Black

If you haven’t seen “School of Rock,” you need to check out Jack Black transforming middle schoolers into a rock ’n’ roll band. In the film, we see Black singing and playing the guitar and keyboard.

7. Mark Wahlberg

Not everyone knew Mark Wahlberg by his name back in the day. Instead, he was Marky Mark in Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch. Even when you search him now, his music video for “Good Vibration” comes up. Here, you can see the “Ted” actor rapping with the group.
