An armed soldier barricaded and shot herself in a military office located in Fort Lee, Virginia on Monday morning, according to Reuters

As the same source reports, the 14-year veteran sergeant first class soldier entered Fort Lee's Combined Arms Support Command Headquarters around 8:45 AM EDT. Base Commander and Major General Stephen Lyons comments that she was "enraged" and went on a "rampage" before shooting herself despite police efforts to negotiate.

The soldier's identity, condition, and motives were not released. She is currently being treated at Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center in Richmond.

The lockdown has now been cleared at Fort Lee.
