Trust Fund May Be The Key To Fixing L.A. Sidewalks

In some parts of the country people grumble about their weather; in Los Angeles we grumble about the shameful state of our sidewalks.

Luckily, city council thinks it may have come up with a solution. 

Councilmen Paul Krekorian and Herb Wesson proposed two motions—one of which would set aside the $27 million for repairs, while the other would create a “Sidewalk Repair Trust Fund.”

While experts have estimated that it may cost up to $2 billion to entirely repair the 46,000 miles of broken sidewalks, the current proposal offers at least a place to start addressing the citywide problem.
