Residents in northwestern South Carolina’s Oconee County discovered bags of candy on Saturday night and Sunday morning, attached with a recruitment flyer for the Ku Klux Klan, according to The Daily Beast.

The flyer said “Save Our Land, Join the Klan,” with a phone number attached to it that, when dialed, played an automated message about the KKK’s efforts against illegal immigration.

Robert Jones, a high-ranking official within the KKK, said that this was part of a recruitment drive that they hold three times a year.

Jones claims that the phone number attached to the flyer has received 20,000 calls a day. Jones also plans to stage an anti-illegal immigration protest in North Carolina on August 9, as well as a cross burning.
