The video shows not only the officer holding an asthmatic Garner, 43, in a chokehold, but also of what appears to be officers slamming his head against the sidewalk.

Police officers allegedly approached Garner on the corner of Bay Street and Victory Boulevard in Staten Island over untaxed cigarettes they say Garner was selling.

New York Mayor Bill de Blasio cut a trip to Italy short to address the case, which is currently under investigation

NYPD took away the gun and badge from the officer who placed Garner in a chokehold.

Another officer involved in the case is currently on administrative duty.

Also, four EMS workers employed by the Richmond University Medical Center have been placed on modified duty during the review.
