If you haven't heard Demi Lovato's latest single "Really Don't Care," you're probably living under a rock. The lyric video was released back in May, featuring Brazilian fans singing Demi's song. The song became a "be yourself" theme; fans in the video shouted out lyrics, danced as though they were alone and all around owned their own personal stage.

Demi was the grand marshall at the L.A. Pride Parade on June 8, 2014. The official music video for the song was filmed at the parade. The video opens with Demi's voice saying "My Jesus loves all" juxtaposed with visual footage of religious anti-gay posters. Pride atendees are featured in the video along with Demi riding her float through the parade. "No Bullying" and other positive-message signs are part of the environment captured by the video.

Demi is signed with Hollywood Records, Disney's record company. This progressive and political video is surprising coming from a Disney artist (although Disney did cast a same-sex couple on "Good Luck Charlie" recently).

Demi is also performing at NYC pride.

“It’s such an honor to be a part of both LA and NYC PRIDE celebrations this year,” Lovato stated in a press release. “I have been an active advocate of the LGBT community and am wholly committed to supporting individuality and being comfortable in one’s own skin. I am thrilled to be a part of both events as they are a wonderful celebration of independence and self-confidence.”
