Officials in the White House said special forces may be sent to Iraq, even through President Obama said the U.S would not send troops there.

The White House is considering this course of action in an anent attempt to help the Baghdad government regain some control over the Sunni revolt.

President Obama won't send troops for combat, but he will for "non-operational training."

White House spokeswomen Caitlin Hayden said," The President was very clear that we will not be sending U.S. troops back into compact in Iraq. That remains the case and he had asked his national security team to prepare a range of other options that could support Iraqi security forces."

The White House told Congress 275 troops will be sent to protect the American Embassy in Iraq but how much time they will spend there is still unknown.
