U.S. forces, in cooperation with the FBI, captured a key suspect in the 2012 attack on the American diplomatic compound in Benghazi on Tuesday, reports CNN

The suspect is Libyan militia leader Ahmed abu Khattalah. He is the first arrest in connection with the attack, which resulted in the death of U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stephens as well as three other U.S. citizens.

Khattalah is being held in a secret location outside Libya, according to a U.S. official.
