The internet meme Slender Man has reared its ugly, blank head again as it influenced two more attacks over the course of seven days, according to ABC News.

Only a week ago, two 12-year-old Wisconsin girls attempted to murder their friend by stabbing her 19 times to honor the fictional character.

Unfortunately, that was not the end of the madness, as a 13-year-old Ohio girl who liked Slender Man attacked her mother with a knife, reports WLWT.

To make matters worse, a Las Vegas man and his wife who committed suicide after killing two police officers and a civilian on Sunday, regularly wore a Slender Man costume, according to CBS Las Vegas.

The creator of the meme, Eric Knudsen, has since apologized and assured that Slender Man is not meant to negatively influence children, says The Huffington Post.

“I am deeply saddened by the tragedy in Wisconsin, and my heart goes out to the families of those affected by this terrible act,” said Knudsen.
