Senate Candidate Annette Bosworth Learns She Lost Political Election On Live TV
Kelly, a FOX News host, got right to the point when she started the segment.
"Annette, thank you very much for being here. I want to start with the breaking news from the Associated Press that reports that you have lost your race and that former South Dakota Governor Mike Rounds has prevailed in the GOP primary. Your thoughts on that, and we'll get to the controversy," Kelly said in fifteen seconds, flat.
Bosworth remained mostly composed as she - like everyone watching - learned the news.
After a lengthy pause, the candidate responded, "Well, that's news to me. I didn't know that."
Kelly is equally calm while Bosworth speaks, presumably unaware that the candidate had not been told.
"I found out on national television," Bosworth said.
"Sorry to break the news to you. The former governor is said to have a good chance as far as the GOP field goes," Kelly said. Ouch.
Sidenote: Of course Bosworth had no idea she lost. Kelly said so herself this was breaking news from the AP.
The rest of the interview takes a dip from there.
Clearly, Bosworth is not having a very good week. She was arrested on Wednesday and charged with perjury and filing falsified election documents.
