EPISODE 1 - "Thirsty Bird"

So the moment that all OITNB fans have been waiting for is finally here, Piper is back! There were so many unanswered questions that left me wondering; what the hell did Piper do and how is that going to affect her sentence?

The creators did not waste a breathe showing dazed Chapman in the SHU trying to explain her primordial yellow smear on the wall to a prison guard. He instantly dismisses her crazy explanation and asks her if she needs to use the bathroom. Piper responds with a no- oh, how she would regret that decision later. The guard takes her from the SHU and puts her on a school bus headed to an undisclosed location. Things get a bit creepy. She's surrounded by other prisoners that also have no idea what where they are heading to. Of course, Chapman is not the type of person to keep quite, she is constantly asking guards and the other prisoners what is going on. But no one can (or want) to answer her.

Chapman arrives at an airport and she really needs to pee, like really - she's been holding it in for 5 hours now. Once onboard the US marshal escorts Chapman to the bathroom and stands guard. The usual OITNB humor kicks in and the air marshall tells Chapman to hurry things up because her stream sounds a bit light - LOL.

Back in her assigned seat, Chapman strikes up a conversation with the inmate next to her- Lolly. After waiting 15 minutes into the episode you finally get Piper's reaction to what happened last season. The one question I wanted answered was if Pennsatucky died, but Piper doesn't know the answer to that question either. She looks into space and recounts how badly she beat her up and how much she regrets her decision. She doesn't know what will become of her situation and of her newly found dark side.

Piper realizes where she is as soon as she peaks out the window. Chapman arrives in Chi Town (I was hoping for a Kanye West reference here) and is processed through a brand new prison. Does this mean she is permanently moved because of what happened?! As soon as Piper arrives to her cell, she steps on a very special cockroach (luck is not on her side today). Piper's cell mates spend their time training cockroaches to fetch stamps and that particular critter was their most prized possession. She already has the label as the newbie and now she has to spend her time finding a replacement- or else.

Chapman settles in and goes out for the inmates' weekly yard time. A fight breaks out and right when Piper looks up from the fight she spots Alex from across the yard! Alex and Piper finally reunite and Piper is relieved to hear that she is not a murderer; Pennsatucky is doing fine. She also finds out the reason of why they are both in Chicago. Her and Alex need to testify in the case against Cooper, Alex's former kingpin boss, but Alex informs Piper that it would be in both their best interest if they lied. Piper is confronted with a decision to either lie under oath or come clean and tell the truth.

The trail commences and Piper makes the decision to lie, stating she never met Cooper. Howard, Larry's father and her counsel, is completely disappointed in Piper, and she looses his support and her last tie to Larry. As Piper gets antsy in her cell pondering about her decision, she sees Alex. But, Alex looks different. She is stripped of her orange jumpsuit and back into her real-world clothes. Piper doesn't understand how Alex is being set free; Alex says she was "forced" to tell the truth which guaranteed her her freedom. Piper screams Alex's name continually as she leaves realizing the major damage she has done.  She lied under oath and is screwed. Screwed again by the same person that

EPISODE 2 - "Looks Blue, Tastes Red"

If you were missing the cast from season 1, no need to worry because they are back and fabulous as ever.

The women at Litchfield are preparing for a mock career fair and Taystee has her eye on the prize; she hopes to secure a job for when she is released.

Taystee's flashbacks are prevalent throughout the episode, showing her as a young girl at the "Black Adoption Festival." Prospective parents look passed young Taystee and her search for a "forever family" seems unattainable. She is soon introduced to Vee, her future mother figure and the reason why she's in prison.

The rest of the cast is progressively reintroduced; Larry is seeking affirmation from his family and friends to start looking for someone new, the kitchen is still being run by the vivacious Latin women, and Red finds solace in loneliness and resorts to sitting with the "invisibles" of the prison.

Pennsatucky is released from seg and is ordered to visit Mr. Healey in his office. Healey convinces Pennsatucky to leave out a very important part of her fight with Chapman - he was there! - in exchange for a new set of teeth. Pennsatucky's claw teeth days are oh-ver.

The main wow factor in this episode was at the end - Tasytee is confronted with the appearance of Vee, her mother.

Watch out - Vee will certainly be making some waves this season.

EPISODE 3: "Hugs Can Be Deceiving"

Litchfield just got even more interesting- Vee and Piper have arrived. Chapman is welcomed with stares, while Vee is seen as just another inmate- but not to Red. There's some sort of history between the two. But, what kind exactly?

Vee is confronted with Taystee's rancor and seeks a way to get her trust back. She examines the prison and proceeds to befriend eccentric and heart warming Crazy Eyes. She sees beyond Suzanne's outlandish tendencies and wants to offer her guidance and motherhood.

Officer Bennett and Dayanara are still dealing with their soon-to-be major problem- their baby! Who could've forgotten this odd romantic couple. The prison still isn't aware of Daya's pregnancy, so her access to vitamins is nonexistent. Bennet tries to convince Daya that vitamins aren't necessary for pregnancy but Dayanara does not cave- do you, girl. Bennet comes to  a realization that there is a way for him to sneak in vitamins without having to comprise his job.

Vee has some tricks up her sleeve; she asks Cindy to fetch her something of importance in an electrical outlet box but, it doesn't work. Cindy is way to sassy to be told what to do, especially from someone still in an orange jumpsuit (orange jumpsuits are worn by newcomers). Instead of convincing Cindy, Crazy Eyes overhears the entire conversation and fetiches the package for Vee.

Crazy Eyes proves herself by retrieving the cigarettes and is now under Vee's wing. The motive behind the cigarrettes was to persuade the head of the kitchen, Gloria, to make a 'piece-offering' for Taystee. The funfetti with chocolate icing cake is too good to resist and Vee's tactic to befriend Taystee and the rest of her crew works. Red watches Vee's recruitment and there is sense of competition between the two. I guess someone needs to get her crew back together.

All this time I wondered why Piper suffered the same punishment as Pennsatucky - Chapman got way more punches in. Turns out, Crazy Eyes was there the night of the Pennsatucky-Chapman brawl, and she's the reason why Chapman was salvaged from a more extreme punishment. If Suzanne hadn't intervened, the jail would have found Piper to be responsible for the fight and extended her prison sentence. Suzanne is a life saver.

At the end, Vee convinces Suzanne to cut ties with Chapman - Nooooo! Is Dandelion no more?

Vee is planning something - maybe stirring up the prison's social heirachy? She said she would "keep her head down and do her time" but there is no way I'm beleiving that.
